My grandmother used to call it Decoration Day. She was born and the end of the 19th century and was no stranger to loss from war.
In her lifetime, she had to deal with the stresses and losses of at least four major wars. She was already a young woman during the first world War and had four of her sons serve during the second. One of whom, never came home.
She had grandsons who also served in Korea and Vietnam. And since her passing, many of her other grandsons have served in later atrocities over seas. I personally do not support war in many circumstances,
Although I myself do not support war under many circumstances, I honor and support those who choose to serve.
To those who have passed from this earth in service, we salute you and keep you in our hearts forever.
