I have published several posts in the mini-series Handmade Components over the last few weeks.

The focus was on using soldering techniques to create the base components.

Today, I want to share a technique for creating a base component using basic wire wrapping techniques.

I will present the tutorials in two video tutorials.

In the first, I demo how to make a brass component similar to the one from the Brass Oval with Eye Loopshown in the photo above with the crystal briolette wrapped in the center.

The wire wrapped version is smaller than the previous one, but you can substitute the basic instructions from the first tutorial to make this version larger if you prefer.

I also show you how to create a leaf shaped component in the first tutorial.

In the second video, you will see how easy it is to add the gorgeous embellishments using very few beads and smaller gauge wrapping or weaving wire.

The full materials lists are included in the video but you can also view them below.

Wire Wrapping the Accents and Embellishments

Once you have finished wire wrapping your components, you will want to make matching earring findings to complete the projects.
